WELCOME
Welcome to Dr. Mai Psychological Services. I hope you'll find this website helpful in getting a sense of who I am, how I approach therapy, and the services I provide.
Therapy is deeply personal, so finding a psychologist who understands the nuances of your experience and uses their expertise to help you make sense of your life story and navigate challenges is an important part of the process. My hope is to create a space where you can open up and express yourself honestly, explore the complexities of your inner and outer worlds, ask difficult questions, get curious, face your deepest fears, and consider new possibilities. Along the way, you may reconnect with your truest self, a place where self-acceptance brings a sense of internal peace and where you discover the clarity and courage to make the changes and choices that matter most to your life journey.
I offer a free 15‑minute consultation so you can learn more about my approach and see if working together feels like a good fit for supporting your mental health needs and goals.

Therapy Approach
How Therapy Supports You
Therapy provides a space to pause and reconnect with yourself, cultivating deeper awareness of what contributes to your struggles. Through this process, you can also expand your understanding of the relationships, experiences, and contexts—including family, culture, community, beliefs, and generation—that have shaped your identity and influenced how you treat yourself and engage with the world.
Insight and clarity might invite you to consider change—whether by shifting perspectives, refining or developing effective skills to cope, regulate emotional distress, or manage relational difficulties, or making adjustments to patterns that are no longer helpful or healthy for you. Working together, I can help you explore what meaningful, realistic changes might look like and identify small, achievable steps that support your goals. My hope is that, over time, these small shifts will help you skillfully face challenges with greater flexibility and compassion, and make choices that bring you more joy, balance, and the freedom to embrace what matters most to you.
